- 3D Massing Views

This progress scheme accentuates the idea of a public outdoor core that connects with the Brooklyn bridge park and the iconic view.

The massing is an elevated rectangle that has a cut out to provide an outdoor core circulation. The rectangular cut-out is dictated by the view to the Brooklyn bridge tower. The studio, library & office spaces are orientated towards the park. Having the Library cantilevered and offsets under the mass exemplifies the use of form follows function. Providing a communal stair to the auditorium, which is located at the basement level helps with inviting the public into the space. The main entrance to the building is located on lot #2. This helps the students and staff enter the building without having to go down further towards the park.

Materials & space quality have not been detailed. The main purpose of this post is to keep understanding how the program & massing start to engage eachother.
